Help researchers understand the student and parent perspective on having food allergies in school! Do you have a child with a food allergy in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade? Does your child live in New England? ... You and your child may be eligible to participate in a study through the University of Massachusetts Boston about what it’s like to have food allergies in school! In recent years, administrators, nurses and policymakers have created rules to try to make school safer for students with food allergies. We want to learn about what students think and feel about what it’s like to have food allergies. We’re hoping to hear about students’ experiences with food allergies in school, and about their ideas to improve allergy education and school rules. We’d also like to know about your observations of your child’s experiences. If you have any questions about opportunities to participate in this project, please reach out to the principal investigator of this project, Sadie Cathcart, at [email protected] Use the following link to be directed to more information, consents, and both caregiver and child questionnaires. Thank you for your time and consideration. https://umassboston.co1.qualtrics.com///SV_6EdhwEk3bKo8fJj

The Allergy & Immunology Program at Boston Children's Hospital is still open for new or return telemedicine visits. During these visits, you can talk with a board-certified physician about any symptoms and discuss treatment options. The provider will be able to prescribe medications, fill out forms, arrange skin/blood testing, X-rays or other special testing as needed. For current patients, all of our allergists are seeing patients through telemedicine, so you will be able to... see your doctor. To schedule an appointment: Call 617 355-6117 or Email [email protected] with contact information then our schedulers can contact you.

Thank you to the Steen family! They had raised over $10K for Eosinophilic Esophagitis research. Joe Steen put on a safe community event to run the same 1 mile at the top of the hour for 31 hours starting this past Friday @ 8am and ended after 2pm Saturday. He was joined by 30 different runners during the course of the race, with the youngest "runner" at 8 months old, 1 dog runner and a mixture of kids on bikes, scooters and skateboards. Hi son, Jack, completed 22 miles. Amazing!

The current COVID-19 pandemic has led to many changes in daily life, including "social distancing" and school, store, and workplace closures. A group of food allergy researchers from across the country is conducting a short electronic survey to learn how COVID-19 is affecting food allergy patients and their caregivers. If you are a parent/caregiver of a child with food allergy: https://redcap.link/covid19_foodallergy_parents If you are an adult food allergy patient: ... https://redcap.link/covid19_foodallergy_parents Each survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be kept anonymous.

Jack has a rare allergy condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. His father is running to help raise money for research at Boston Children's Hospital. Initially he was planning to run in a race, but COVID-19 cancelled those plans. He is still running solo for fundraising and increasing awareness about EoE. If you can, please help Jack and his family reach their goals! You can donate and find out more here: https://secure.childrenshospital.org//TR;jsessionid=000000...
